Abstract

Research purpose and aim: The aims linked to the immediate project are to examine and evaluate several issues in relation to including and engaging students suffering from learning-related disabilities in the mainstream primary education setting. Methodological approaches: In the current project, the inductive approach and descriptive type design have been incorporated so as to integrate logical evidence and valuable theories to treat the research-oriented problem. Along with this, the secondary approach of data accumulation is used whereby authentic academic or scholarly sources are reviewed to obtain knowledge and integrate it in the present study to address the stated research purpose. Thematic analysis was systematically performed to evaluate the retrieved outcomes with supporting literary evidence to fulfil the intent of the research. Results and conclusion: The findings asserted and established that the main issues in fostering disabled children's involvement in mainstream primary schools involves the absence of attention, negative attitudes, lack of motivation and poor behaviour of these students with regards to learning and seeking education. Moreover, inadequate infrastructure and a negative classroom environment also deprive these students of the ability to become engaged in learning in mainstream primary schools. In this regard, measures like group activities, friendly interaction, play activities, fostering encouragement and collaborative learning are determined to foster inclusion among students who face the issue of learning disability in mainstream primary schools. Practical implications: The guidance to the primary education setting in relation to fostering inclusive learning for students with learning impairment is the main practical implication associated with this study. Moreover, the aspects regarding developing a positive educational climate and the self-development of students also benefit from this study. Recommendations: The research provides measures for forming an educational environment that fosters cooperative learning, mutual collaboration, active listening and group tasks to engage every student effectively to learn and understand academic conceptions without difficulty. Thus, learning outcomes can eventually be improved in mainstream primary schools.
