Abstract
As is known that creativity is the basis for renaissance and progress, and the basis for business success; and in line with the global development, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has tended to put forward the 2030 vision, which aims to improve and develop economic and investment activities by encouraging creativity, talents and creative business among the younger generation. Since there is no dedicated space for designers in Saudi Arabia, the need for suitable workspaces for the designer and innovator is pressing. To achieve the aims of this vision efficiently, these spaces need to be designed creatively and to assist in stimulating thinking. Therefore, this paper examines the designers' work environment and needs, and the facilities allocated to them that may help stimulate innovation and encourage productivity. In fact that the work environment plays a vital role in improving the productivity of workers, and it reflects on their psychological requirements. Bio-design and green environments also have the effect of enhancing a positive attitude and reducing stress in the work environment. It was important to highlights in the review of the literature on identifying the psychological impact of the work environment on workers, discovering the vital environment, analysing the work environment after the current situation of the spread of the Coronavirus, the important facilities for the work environment and the shared work environment and its effectiveness. In addition, to presenting a case study of two well-known companies that were interested in their employees' workspace to stimulate creativity and innovation. This study relied on the mixed methodology to understand the current environment for designers' work in Saudi Arabia, discover facilities, and analyse factors and tools that contribute to creating a stimulating and effective work environment. This research included observations from a co-working place in Saudi Arabia and interviews with a variety of design fields to explore their preferences for the work environment and the factors that motivate their productivity. In order to identify the tools and facilities for designers in Saudi Arabia, to define the target group for the project and to identify their preferences, this study also used questionnaires. This research develops workspaces intended for designers. These spaces are featured with designed that stimulate creative thinking.
