Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of life on a global scale, education is one of the sectors that has been most affected by this crisis. Schools and universities have been subjected to the largest lockdown that the world has witnessed in contemporary history. Although online education began a long time ago, today, it has become the primary means for the continuation of education worldwide. Teachers from elementary school to higher education and vocational training have suddenly found themselves compelled to convert their teaching materials into digital content, disseminate this content on electronic platforms, and teach their students remotely. School closures have particularly inhibited students with learning difficulties because of their need for special services to address their educational challenges. In addition, some parents lack the experience and strategies required to teach children with learning difficulties, while teachers have faced pressure in applying techniques that meet these students’ needs in an online learning environment
