A LoRa (Long Range) Network is one of the low-power networks (LPWAN). It works to connect IoT devices. Its applications include industrial sensors on farms and in places like smart cities. A secure data connection is an essential requirement in any network, which means that the security requirements in the form of availability and integrity must be met. However, the LoRa network has security issues such as exchanging keys that provide integrity and encryption. In addition to that, no updates can be done after the start of the session. This dissertation explored the LoRaWAN protocol from a security point of view. The result of this study is a protocol proposal aimed at enhancing the current protocol. The proposed protocol was verified using the Scyther tool, and a security comparison was made to recent studies.
