Abstract

The introduction of ICT has brought in major changes in the traditional classroom concept. Teacher and student attitudes towards employing ICT in the classroom play a significant role in overall EFL achievement. In response to the widespread use and ever-changing nature of information and communication technologies (ICT), various investigations were carried out regarding attitudes towards ICT. There appear to be a few research studies that have been conducted to examine Kosovo high school EFL teachers and students towards information communication technologies. In line with the current trend of invoking more widespread use of ICT in EFL classrooms in Kosovo, this study aimed at investigating the attitudes of both Kosovo high school EFL teachers and students towards information communication technologies in the EFL classroom. To address the aim of the study, 42 respondents from all 13 Prishtina public high schools took part in the study (14 EFL teachers and 28 EFL students). Data sources included two questionnaires, one for students and the other for teachers. The questionnaires were piloted electronically whereas the actual study was conducted in public high schools in the capital of Kosovo. Data obtained by questionnaires were further analyzed using SPSS program, Version 20.0. The analysis of the data obtained from the two questionnaires revealed that both Kosovo EFL teachers and students have positive attitudes towards ICT in the EFL classroom.The introduction of ICT has brought in major changes in the traditional classroom concept.
