dc.description | Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds and blessings and peace be upon his noblest prophet and messenger. This study aims to investigate the level of written mathematical skills for third secondary grade students, and to give a proposal to develop the written mathematical communication skills for third secondary grade students and it tried to answer the following questions: 1. what are the written mathematical communication skills necessary for the students of third secondary grade? 2. To what extent do third secondary grade students have the skill of written mathematical communication? 3. what is the supposed proposal to develop the written mathematical communication skills for third secondary grade students? To answer the study questions, The researcher had done the following procedures: 1- Prepare a list of written mathematical communication skills. 2- Prepare an achievement test depending on the written mathematical communication skills, apply it to the third grade secondary school students ,accordingly the level of the third secondary grade students in written mathematical communication skills was identified. 3- prepare a supposed proposal to develop the written mathematical communication skills through mathematics subject. The sample of study contains (63) third secondary grade students in the public girls schools that belongs to the department of education in the Governorate of Al-Muznib at Al-Qassim county. The study found that the percentage of the Extent to which students of the third secondary grade masters the skills of written mathematical communication ranged between 25.4% and 69.05%, and the highest percentage was for the skill "student can translate what a graph means into writing" which has an arithmetic average of 2.76 and a standard deviation of 1.48, and the least percentage was for the skill "Explain the meaning of the numerical answer after solving the problems" which has an arithmetic average of 1.02 and standard deviation of 1.31 that means the extent to which the students have this skill is too low. In the light of the previous procedures the researcher give a proposal to develop the written mathematical communication skills for third secondary grade students. | |
