dc.description.abstract | The work involves partially translating a scientific book and making critical commentary on the translation process. This translation, in general, aims to provide Saudi parents and their friends with reliable information on dealing with depression that commonly occurs among women after childbirth. To fulfil the stated goal of translation, the translator, during the translation process, aims to explore the applied strategies and procedures to select the most suitable strategies. The book Depression after Childbirth authored by Katharina Dalton was selected for translation into Arabic. The communicative approach by Newmark was selected as the global strategy to translate the selected text.
