ANALYSING THE USE OF REQUEST STRATEGIES BY UNIVERSITY LEVEL STUDENTS IN RIYADH CITY, SAUDI ARABIA
Abstract
This study examines the request strategies used by female non-native speakers of English and female native speakers of English and determines the differences in their usage. Using a Discourse Completion Test (DCT), 50 non-native English speakers and another 50 native English speakers are requested to make request strategies for six scenarios designed to elicit speech acts.
